the dreamcatcher

my cousin and her boyfriend came from australia, and they are here for a week.

i am their official tourguide and i've been taking them around town.



so the other day we were walking around shopping for souvenirs, something crossed my mind.




the dreamcatcher.

i looked all over, and i managed to find a really pretty one.

this is a dreamcatcher.


there is a legend behind the dreamcatcher.

the native americans (my guess is some red indian tribe), first created this thing.
they believe that the night is filled with good and bad dreams.
dreamcatchers were made as a charm to protect sleeping children and princesses like me from nightmares.

the myth is that the dreamcatcher will catch one’s dreams in the night.
the good dreams will find their way to the center of the dreamcatcher and float down the feather.
the bad dreams will get caught in the dreamcatcher’s webbing and disappear at the first light of the morning sun.


dreamcatcher is therefore considered a filter allowing only good, pleasant dreams to get through.
dreamcatchers are also believed to bless those who are sleeping with good luck and harmony.

anyway, the other day at my amah's house, i went to the pasar minggu to get some asam.


and something caught my eye.
