i ACTUALLY cooked - tom yum pasta

today i cooked tom yum pasta.

no big deal rite? but its an achievement for me i tell you.

i should get some kinda award for it. you know why? because this is the first time i've actually cooked something else apart from fried rice, vege, fish, soup, and instant noodles.

like seriously.

i dont know how it happened.

i woke up, was alone, felt hungry, and pop! tom yum pasta came into my mind.

probably because i just had it on christmas day.

if you plan to cook something simple apart from rice or fried rice, here's the recipe for you.

INGREDIENTS (for 1 serving)

2-3 biji shitake mushroom (3 biji coz i like to makan it)
2 leaves parsley
1 egg
1 lime @ 1/2 a lemon
your own choice of pasta (i used fettuccine)
tom yum paste (the pic extra huge so you can see the brand)
2-3 teaspoons of olive oil
salt

if you are cooking for more people then sendiri agak-agak how much you have to add for each ingredient la.

The preparation - DIRECTIONS

1. Collect half a pot of water and put to BOIL.

2. While waiting, SOAK shitake mushroom in a bowl of hot water.

3. BREAK egg into bowl, and ADD one teaspoon of tomyum paste (depends on how much u want).

4. BEAT egg and tomyum paste for a while.

5. The water should boil by then, so ADD olive oil into water, and SPRINKLE some salt and ADD pasta into water. Leave to boil for 10-15 minutes. Stir it on and off.

6. In the mean time, CUT the parsley.

7. SLICE/CHOP the softened mushroom.

8. When the pasta noodle is soft enough, turn off the gas, and LEAVE it for about 2
minutes, then DRAIN the water.

The frying - DIRECTIONS

1. Heat up the kuali with abit of oil.

2. Put in the pasta and stir.

3. Pour in the egg+tomyum paste thing. Stir.

4. Throw in the chopped mushroom.

5. Add parsley. Stir.

6. And TADAH~ Scoop on to plate, squeeze lime/lemon, and eat.

if you want to decorate it to impress the person who's gonna eat or for blogging purposes, just add some parsley leaves and sliced mushroom on top...

like what i did (for blogging purposes... duh~).

nice rite?

im so proud of myself. i think i can pursue culinary arts, become a chef, cook, or something, whatever you call it.

the taste was damn nice, but i didnt boil the noodles long enough, so it was abit hard. ALWAYS REMEMBER to bite your pasta to see if its boiled long enough.

nonetheless, i did finish all my noodles. only to suffer from a tired jaw later on. =(

i still think i deserve some kinda award...

or maybe some compliments.
